The Heartburn Center of San Diego deals mainly with disorders of
the esophagus and the cardiac sphincter, the valve between the stomach and
the esophagus. When this valve is not able to stop the stomach acid from
going back up the esophagus, this is called "GERD", which stands for
gastro-esaphageal reflux disease.
Some patients find that SlimSmart helps their condition both before
and after surgery and possibly as an alternative to surgery.
The weight management program at Kaiser Permanente uses SlimSmart for some of their
clients and has experimented with SlimSmart in their program.
