Eat Harmoniously with Your Digestive System
The diagram at the right is a simplistic model of a big part of
your body: Your Digestive System. We can model it as a series of
valves separating processing chambers.
It is largely automatic, except for the first and last valve
and your mouth and epiglottis. (Some argue that even these
are not under much control in some people.) Have you ever noticed
how you can't help but swallow if you put food far enough back in
your mouth?
As your food is swallowed, the rest of the system is completely
automatic, and surprisingly consistent. Food (now called "chyme")
is moved from your stomach at the pace of about 20 seconds per
movement, discharging up to a teaspoon of chyme from your stomach.
This valve (the pyloric sphincter) opens at this rate 24 hours a day,
7 days a week, whether you've recently eaten or not.
If you eat very fast, food must collect in your stomach because
it can only exit slowly. If you eat in a paced manner using SlimSmart, you
will find that your stomach can process the food before much more is put in.
Over time (about two weeks) you will find that eatng fast will become
uncomfortable because your body has adjusted to the new rate.
Bottomline: SlimSmart helps you match your natural pacing of your digestive
system.
